Summary
This position will plan, manage, and control transmission and distribution line construction, and maintenance functions to ensure continuity of service in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Promote and manage the safety of employees and the public by adhering to and requiring safe maintenance and construction practice.

Competencies
Current knowledge of electrical utility construction, operations, and maintenance practices related to distribution and transmission lines, including logistics planning.
Knowledge of budget preparation and administration.
Knowledge of National Electrical Safety Code, and State and Federal OSHA requirements.
Familiar with bargaining unit contract administration.
Familiar with electrical utility materials, equipment, and terminology.
Knowledge of safe construction and maintenance practices.
Ability to supervise others and develop effective working relationships at all levels.
Ability to manage multiple crews and train personnel.
Proficient in both written and oral communication
Current ability to use a computer to include word processing, spreadsheet, project management and e-mail software.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has the supervisory responsibility for the Transmission and Distribution Line Construction and Maintenance Foremen, Leadmen and Journeymen Linemen. This position directs other personnel as assigned.
Work Environment
This position requires an extensive field presence. Some travel via aircraft in varying weather conditions. Some work takes place in the office. This position is subject to 24-hour call out on a rotational duty supervisor call out system.

Education
Bachelor's degree in business, construction, or related discipline, required. Current or ability to obtain certification in hazardous waste operations and emergency response, and CPR required. Ability to be certified as a competent person in excavation, trenching, and soils mechanics is required.
Experience
Five (5) years progressively responsible experience, including supervisory responsibility, in electric utility, electrical contractor operations, or similar discipline in the field of transmission and distribution overhead, underground and substation related construction, maintenance and operations, required.Experience working in a union environment is preferred.
Substitution:
Additional professional experience in similarly complex line operation role or related field may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.
