Title: General Ledger Accountant
Provide a variety of accounting transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting and audit principles.
Candidates must demonstrate their ability to accomplish the Essential Job Results stated below.
Job Knowledge/documentation Required: Minimum high school diploma with three years of progressive experience in accounting. Preference for a BA degree with emphasis in accounting or finance, or an associate's degree with two years of experience. Familiarity with non-profit and fund accounting, grant management.
Knowledge of computers, all Microsoft applications, and preferably MIP accounting software. Willingness to pursue ongoing professional education.
Familiarity with the Bristol Bay area, people, and cultures is preferred. Consideration of candidates' overall experience, education, and potential is also important.
Perform accounting functions independently under supervision, understanding financial rules, regulations, OMB Circulars, and reporting standards.
Knowledge of federal and state contract/grant management, BBNA financial policies, and attention to detail.
Continuing professional development through reading, research, work experience, and formal study is encouraged.
