Under general direction, the Senior Police Clerk is responsible for extensive contact with the public, both in person and over the phone. Maintain working knowledge of community, municipal, and internal resources and route citizens appropriately. Take reports of crime over the phone and compose formal department police reports. Type and compose routine correspondence, various reports, letters, memorandum. Extensive data entry. Research and enter data from police reports and citations into various computer systems, including but not limited to Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN), National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and Records Management System (RMS). Coordinate with internal personnel and external agencies under time constraints to process arrests and charging documents. Perform cashiering functions and process all traffic citations.
