Description:
Electric Power Systems, Inc is a unique company offering a wide range of services to our clients in the areas of power systems design, power system studies, control system design, commissioning, troubleshooting and testing. We provide services to power facilities ranging from 200 kW to 150 MW wind farms. We design and install control systems for units and entire power plants and microgrids. We integrate wind and PV resources into remote microgrids. We design substations, transmission lines and distribution lines as well as process systems for utility, government and industrial facilities. Our engineers get to participate in fieldwork to learn how projects work and can be improved. We are currently seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Alaska team.
Responsibilities:
• Will be responsible for the performance of system planning studies, design of transmission and distribution lines, substations, solar power plant facilities, and integration of new into existing power plants.
• Must have the ability to think outside the box to develop control systems and applications which are unique to Alaska and our diverse client base.
• Will be responsible for preparing reports using Microsoft word and developing proposals and project schedules for projects
• Working under a Sr Engineer, this person will be responsible for managing their own projects and directing others including tracking project data requests, data submissions, and progress submissions to client and comments from clients.
Requirements:
• Must have a BSEE Degree
• Minimum 3 years of Electrical Engineering experience
• Knowledge of control system components, software and programming
• Able to take portions of projects under the direction of a Sr engineer and complete those assignments with little supervision
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft applications
• Software experience in AutoCAD, SEL, Woodward, Comap, Basler, GE, ETAP, EasyPower, SKM and PowerWorld is , familiarity with one or more is
• Knowledge of VFD controls and applications
• Field experience is , but not required
• Microgrid, power plant or utility experience a plus, but not required
• Experience in off-grid applications and integration of wind, solar, hydro
• Experience working in non-engineering positions considered a positive
