Position Responsibilities

• Provide a great experience by engaging with guests utilizing your acquired skills and training.
• Assist guests' selection and recommendation of merchandise and services in accordance with their identified needs.
• Demonstrate a high level of interest in the welfare, health, and proper handling of all animals.
• Process register transactions and create a great experience for each guest.
• Generate future business through a deep understanding of the guests and their pets and connection to our digital platforms.
• Perform related duties in support of the Pet Care Center attaining its sales goals.
• Ensure merchandise is stocked, priced, and displayed to create a great presentation for our guests.
• Complete and apply training programs to maintain a high level of expertise in their role.
• Adhere to operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Promote a positive culture of teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration.
• Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Evaluate guest inquiries and refer to the Leader on Duty as needed.

Other Essential Duties

• Utilize selling behaviors to provide an amazing guest experience within our Pet Care Locations.
• Contribute to a safe environment by maintaining safety protocols.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum of one year of sales experience required. Knowledge of pet nutrition, sales techniques, and a genuine interest in animals are essential. Good interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.

Certification

Completion and maintenance of the Petco Certification program at the specialist level are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior pet nutrition experience and pet care experience are recommended.

Work Environment

Primarily indoors, with some outdoor activities such as stocking and merchandise handling. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and pull 2000 lbs with equipment. Shifts include evenings, weekends, holidays, and some overnights.

Starting Rate

$17.00
