Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium has a hiring preference for qualified Alaska Native and American Indian applicants pursuant to P.L. 93-638 Indian Self Determination Act.

This position is intermittent/as needed and requires on-site work.

Summary

Under general supervision, provides telehealth services including project management, customer relations, training, and needs assessments to increase telehealth utilization across the Alaska Tribal Health System.

Responsibilities

  • Promote awareness of telehealth products and services, assist customers with adoption, and support ongoing use through training, documentation, and demonstrations.
  • Monitor telehealth utilization by generating and evaluating reports, ensuring data validity and security, and gathering user feedback.
  • Assess customer needs to assist in hardware/software selection; participate in review, selection, and user acceptance testing.
  • Provide informational support regarding telemedicine products and services, including contact info and equipment capabilities.
  • Establish professional relationships with personnel, foster enthusiasm for telehealth, and assist others in system use and implementation.
  • Train users on telehealth software, hardware, and processes, developing and evaluating training tools.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for workflow and clinical telehealth issues, resolving within scope and following up as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Medical terminology, patient care activities, healthcare software applications.
  • Excellent communication, video teleconferencing skills, multitasking, troubleshooting, and relationship management.
  • Proficiency with computers, data collection, and adult training techniques.

Minimum Education Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in a clinical, health administration, or business field; equivalent work experience may be considered on a year-for-year basis.

Minimum Experience Qualification

One year of related patient care experience; an equivalent combination of experience and education may substitute.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Alaska Tribal Health System or Native cultures, rural healthcare, and outpatient/inpatient settings.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift approximately 20 pounds, work in environments with latex, travel within and outside Alaska, and work outside regular hours or on-call as needed.
