Purpose of the Job

The Developmental Specialist works with families to provide age-appropriate developmental services for infants and toddlers, 0-3 years of age. They travel to meet families in their natural environment, often in their homes or villages. The Specialist works within a multidisciplinary team to help children and families transition into their next placement before age 3.

A Developmental Specialist II will administer assessments, create written reports supporting their determinations, develop Individual Family Service Plans, and provide Child Outcome Summaries. This position adheres to all policies and procedures outlined in the BBAHC Policy and Procedures Manual, as well as State and Federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood special education, social work, or a related field.
• Professional licensure/certification in teaching, social work, or a master's degree in a related field.
• Minimum of one year experience working with young children.
• Ability to work within a team.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.
• Will complete state-mandated Part C credentials within the first six months on the job during work hours.
• Ability to obtain Alaska SEED credentials of level 10 or higher.
