The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the Municipality of Anchorage park land and facilities in a safe and usable condition for the public to enjoy. Performs routine park maintenance under general supervision. Leads Parks Caretaker I positions to clean up illegal camps and store personal belongings as needed. The duties of this position focus on homeless camp cleanup. While utilizing safe work practices, remove trash, debris, and waste to restore Municipal property to usable conditions. Dispose of removed articles in a safe and sanitary manner. Other duties may include litter collection, snow and ice removal, trail maintenance, general grounds and facility cleaning and repair. The duties require the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, take initiative and direct the work of lower level staff on projects or on a daily basis.
