The Fixed Asset Analyst will perform complex, professional, technical work related to the preparation and maintenance of the company's fixed asset records and systems. This role's primary responsibility is to ensure accurate accounting for project costs and fixed assets, including related balance sheet reconciliations and process development within the department.

Starting Salary Range: $39.16/hour - $42.84/hour

This is an in-person position located in Fairbanks, Alaska.

What you will do

  • Record fixed asset additions and retirements in the system.
  • Assist in formulating accounting policies and procedures for tracking job costs and maintaining property, plant, and equipment records.
  • Review, interpret, and update information in the fixed asset subledger and construction work in progress account.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to resolve questions related to job/project costs.
  • Perform research, journal entries, and fixed asset entries as needed.
  • Track job/project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead for construction work in progress accounts.
  • Identify issues on projects and analyze data.
  • Maintain job/project files.
  • Prepare and input non-system generated journal entries.
  • Track Job Initiation and Fixed Asset Request Forms, creating and revising them as needed.
  • Coordinate project close-out accounting deliverables with the government and third parties.
  • Maintain reconciled assets in GIS as needed.
  • Review vertical plant inventory regularly with site personnel and process retirements.
  • Work with Project Managers to identify UOPs on closing projects.
  • Complete monthly reconciliations of plant-related balance sheet accounts.
  • Analyze balance sheet accounts and conduct research as needed.
  • Maintain fixed asset information in tax software.

Conditions of Employment

Must pass a pre-employment drug test, with random testing thereafter per company policy. Must have a valid Alaska driver's license and be eligible to work on a military installation in Alaska, complying with Department of Defense mandates regarding background checks and health directives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (Required)
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience (Required)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry-specific software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High accuracy and confidentiality
  • Ability to work with large data sets accurately
  • Knowledge of computerized and manual accounting systems
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Strong analytical skills
