The Pantry Cook position is responsible for preparing food for patients, cooks, cafeteria, and hospital staff. Cleaning work areas as related to the preparation and serving of food. This position will support food service production at the Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API) in Anchorage, AK. Responsibilities Prepares food as indicated by par level sheets and in accordance with both Nutritional Services and Health Department standards. Follows standardized recipes to meet nutritional needs. Follows preparation sheets and build cards or recipes. Follows all portion control standards. Preparing cold food items such as salads, cut fruit, sandwiches and cold deserts. Prepare patient snacks according menu cycle. Works patient tray line to plate food for delivery to units. Setup and breakdown of patient tray line and steam tables. Follows dietary restrictions and patient menu selection when serving. Responsible for FIFO during meal prep.
