Overview

The Alaska Business Director is responsible for driving top-line revenue growth across new and existing clients for Arctic IT's Cloud Managed Services and Security offerings in the Alaska market. This includes direct accountability for expanding the market share of ArcticCare Managed Services, security solutions, and engineering project services across Tribal & Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs), Commercial, and State & Local Government (SLG) sectors. As a senior, client-facing leader and Arctic IT's sole business development executive in the region, this individual will own the full sales lifecycle from initial outreach through proposal, negotiation, and contract award. The Director also plays an integral role in developing and executing Alaska-specific go-to-market strategies in close collaboration with Marketing and Delivery.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role requiring a proven track record of securing new business and building executive-level client relationships. The Alaska Business Director will help define and execute business development processes, metrics, and strategies to drive sustainable revenue growth. In close partnership with the Marketing team, this individual will co-develop and execute market-specific campaigns, assist with demand generation, and convert marketing-qualified leads through to close. In addition to serving as a public-facing representative at industry events and speaking engagements, the role is expected to directly close new deals and lead the end-to-end sales process. As both a hunter and a strategic business leader, this position will influence pipeline development, deal strategy, partner alignment, and marketing effectiveness while ensuring CRM discipline and KPI reporting to leadership.


Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Market Growth

  • Serve as the senior business leader representing Arctic IT across the Alaska market, with full accountability for driving top-line revenue growth from both new prospects and existing clients.
  • Develop and execute an Alaska go-to-market plan aligned with overall company goals.
  • Build Arctic IT's presence and credibility across Alaska through active engagement with clients, ANC's, village corporations and other tribal entities, partners, and industry organizations.
  • Expand professional influence by participating in relevant regional and virtual communities (e.g., user groups, forums, Chamber of Commerce).
  • Define, monitor, and consistently report strategic KPIs (e.g., pipeline value, win rates, client retention, contract renewals) to Leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners and teaming collaborators, including national vendors such as Ingram Micro, to support co-selling, co-marketing, and account growth.

Sales Execution & Opportunity Management

  • Own the full sales cycle for all new business and account expansion opportunities in the Alaska market—from lead generation through close.
  • Proactively develop pipeline through networking, partnerships, and direct prospecting.
  • Collaborate with the CIO to define sales strategy and tactics that increase qualified pipeline volume.
  • Lead discovery sessions, define client requirements, and develop tailored proposals, Statements of Work, and responses to RFPs/RFIs with the support of Pre-Sales resources.
  • Create and deliver compelling presentations for prospects, clients, and industry audiences to communicate Arctic IT's value proposition.
  • Maintain complete and accurate opportunity data in the CRM (Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Sales) to ensure pipeline visibility and integrity.
  • Negotiate contracts in collaboration with internal stakeholders to close deals and achieve revenue goals.
  • Lead executive-level relationships with strategic clients, conducting quarterly business reviews and client satisfaction assessments. (Coordinating with other Business Units on joint clients
  • Build strong relationships with key client stakeholders to ensure retention and identify growth opportunities.
  • Provide field-level insights to influence Arctic IT's service roadmap and go-to-market alignment.
  • Partner with Delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions meet client needs and align with internal capabilities.
  • Participate in opportunity reviews and contribute to go/no-go decisions.

Marketing Strategy & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to co-develop a market-specific marketing plan aligned with revenue and brand objectives.
  • Provide insights into Alaska market trends, buyer personas, and client priorities to shape marketing campaigns and messaging.
  • Support execution of demand generation programs (e.g., webinars, events, content, marketing automation) to ensure qualified lead flow.
  • Represent the Alaska market in external brand-building efforts, including public speaking, panels, and thought leadership.
  • Drive Arctic IT's presence at conferences and trade shows through active participation and strategic networking.
  • Collaborate with Business Applications and Marketing teams to position bundled solutions tailored to the Alaska market.
  • Provide targeted feedback to refine campaigns and improve conversion outcomes.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Define and manage KPIs specific to the Alaska market, including lead volume, conversion rates, pipeline velocity, and client growth.
  • Report performance, trends, and opportunities to the Leadership on a consistent cadence.
  • Leverage CRM dashboards and reporting tools to forecast revenue and guide strategic decisions.
  • Deliver market-specific insights to support Arctic IT's pricing strategy, service roadmap, and growth planning.
  • Analyze marketing and sales performance metrics to guide continuous improvement.
  • Present forecasts, escalations, and key opportunities in internal business reviews.

Additional Duties

  • Maintain current knowledge of the Alaska market, industry trends, and Arctic IT's service offerings to remain competitive and relevant.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Information Officer to support Alaska business success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or a related field preferred
  • 7+ years of professional experience, including sales oversight
  • Demonstrated experience owning a revenue target and driving measurable growth
  • Proven ability to manage complex client relationships and resolve escalations
  • Deep understanding of the Alaska business environment and Native organizations
  • Applicants are subject to background checks, drug testing, and government security investigations and must meet eligibility requirements related to the clearance process.
  • Valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable personal vehicle.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work for this role is performed in a home office and interacts with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. Telecommuters are expected to have sufficient home office space that appears neat, organized, and professional when in video meetings. Travel is required and varies around 50%.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The individual will be subject to sedentary work with most hours in a professional office environment and will need to be able to quickly respond to a change in work demands. The individual is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal. Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects (1-40 lbs.) are required.
