Responsible for performing a variety of journeyman level emergent and non-emergent radio dispatches and providing assistance and information to the public for the Anchorage Fire Department (AFD) Communications Center. Able to work independently, use sound judgement and action within defined policies and procedures to decide priority of calls, when emergency personnel should be dispatched, and determine the level of response required. Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, and three (3) years of experience which involve a substantial amount of public contact and office clerical duties and one (1) year of public safety dispatching experience.
