Under the general direction of the Solid Waste Services (SWS) Director, enforces the department's safety and security programs for the Utility. Inspects facilities and divisions, including equipment and working conditions, for compliance with various safety codes. Drafts division safety and security programs with division supervisors. Conducts SWS's training, organizes and conducts seminars, lectures and training sessions on safety topics. Provides expertise regarding safety codes, regulations, and practices. Provides in-depth guidance on Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA) general industry safety standards, Industrial Hygiene (IH), and Fire Code provisions. Oversee and schedules Industrial Hygiene contracted services. Writes reports on the status of SWS safety programs, with substantive recommendations to improve them. Coordinates Utility fire drills and reporting.
