Due to continued growth, Sargent & Lundy's Grid Group currently has an opportunity for a Manager in its San Juan office. This position offers the opportunity to manage and further grow a project team of engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of high voltage systems.The role involves working on challenging assignments including investigating, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions to expand and modernize the electric grid. Responsibilities include:Directing the Team Lead in coordinating engineering and design from concept through detailed design, field support, and project closeout.Supporting overall account management and client engagement through peer reporting, coordination, and conflict resolution.Leading efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.Coordinating and executing facility studies for various RTOs.Ensuring systems design activities comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements.Preparing reports and studies that clearly present technical information and meet client and company standards.Conducting independent reviews of work performed by others, including calculations and drawings.This position is based on a hybrid work schedule requiring in-office presence 3 days per week.QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or an advanced management/business degree.Hands-on experience with MISO facility studies and knowledge of DPP process.Experience in project management of utility substation projects.Knowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEC, IEEE, and ANSI.10+ years in designing multi-disciplinary solutions for utility high voltage substations, including electrical, civil, and structural scopes.At least 5 years leading an engineering design team through all project phases.Technical knowledge of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience with presentations, proposals, and reports.Willingness to travel to project sites and attend client meetings.Bilingual in Spanish and English (read, speak, and write).Valued but not required: FE or PE license, PMP, start-up and commissioning experience.BenefitsSargent & Lundy offers comprehensive healthcare, paid time off, and a range of benefits including health plans, disability coverage, 401(k), tuition assistance, bonuses, paid leave, flexible work arrangements, and more.
