POSITION SUMMARY

This position directs all employment programming from RAIS throughout the state. It focuses on cultural, employment services, and job readiness classes. The role involves networking with various employers to facilitate employment opportunities for clients. Additionally, it supervises staff at the Welcome Center and oversees facility maintenance. The position requires providing program activity statistics and tracking/reporting grant outcomes. Some evening and weekend hours may be necessary.

ABOUT OUR PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT

Refugee Assistance & Immigration Services (RAIS) helps refugees and new arrivals adapt to life in the U.S. by focusing on economic self-sufficiency, community integration, and respecting cultures, history, and traditions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop educational activities related to employment and adjustment to America
  • Implement programs for refugee clients
  • Manage teams across Anchorage, Wasilla, and Delta Junction
  • Supervise staff, approve leave and timesheets
  • Oversee Welcome Center facilities and technology
  • Coordinate curriculum development and job skills activities
  • Assist with complex client issues
  • Maintain employer relationships and outreach
  • Monitor employed clients and mediate relations
  • Document meetings and work thoroughly and timely
  • Manage data collection and reporting for program outcomes
  • Provide statistical and narrative reports
  • Maintain accurate employment data for ORR reports
  • Assist with crisis intervention and emergency services
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Represent the program externally
  • Support initiatives like change management and quality improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, counseling, business, or related field; four years of relevant experience may substitute. Minimum two years in health or human services, including at least one year in supervision. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Standard indoor office environment, occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, frequent sitting or standing. Travel within Anchorage and occasionally to Wasilla. Located at 4135 San Roberto Avenue, Anchorage, AK.
