Description:

ASRC Federal Communications is seeking a Temporary Electrician for our ISS2 contract supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located at Eareckson Air Station (EAS).This is a rotational position in which the selected employee will work a schedule with 3 months on shift at a time, 1 month off, at Eareckson Air Station (EAS), located in Shemya, AK. While working on-site, housing is provided in the form of a dormitory facility. All meals are furnished through the cafeteria. Transportation to EAS from Anchorage, AK, is provided by government-sponsored aircraft. This is a negotiated union position.This Temporary position will last for one 3-month rotation.Position SummaryProvide installation, alteration, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industry. Will be working with power generation and large area power distribution.Essential Duties & Job Functions* Responsible for installation and construction with some maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment* Knowledge of the proper use of standard wire, conduit, fittings, and hardware commonly found in industrial plants.* Read and understand conduit drawings, schematics, drawings, and specifications.* Responsible for use and care of the tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction, including but not limited to:* hydraulic/electric benders,* Knockout Punch sets,* cable puller, meggers,* hi-pot equipment,* volt meters,* multi-testers* ammeter* Able to set and coordinate over-current protective devices, size feeder circuits, and have a basic understanding to work on systems across the island.Basic Qualifications* High school diploma or GED* Valid Journeyman Electrician's License* Ability to perform associated mathematical calculations.* Knowledge of principles and practices of safety management* Strong MS Office and other computer skills* Knowledge of pertinent local, state, and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules* Ability to speak, write, and read English.* Must have a state driver's license and an acceptable record.* Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.* Candidates must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
