Location: North Slope, Alaska

Reports to: Project Engineer

Rotation: Full-Time / Rotation-Based (e.g. 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off)

Pay Rate: $60 – $65 Hourly

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support the execution of an oil and gas facility project located on the North Slope of Alaska.

In this role, you will assist the Project Engineer with coordinating and overseeing various aspects of the project to ensure it progresses efficiently, stays within budget, and meets deadlines. The Project Coordinator will play a key role in tracking project activities, managing documentation, and supporting the smooth communication between internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders.


What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities):

  • Project Coordination: Assist the Project Engineer in coordinating daily project activities, ensuring alignment between construction and commissioning teams.
  • Documentation Management: Manage and maintain project documentation, including project plans, technical drawings, contracts, reports, and meeting minutes. Ensure all documents are organized, up to date, and accessible to stakeholders.
  • Schedule Tracking: Help track the progress of the project schedule, monitor milestones, and update timelines. Report any potential delays or issues to the Project Engineer to ensure timely completion.
  • Procurement Support: Assist in tracking procurement activities, ensuring timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services in compliance with project specifications. Communicate with the procurement team to ensure project needs are met.
  • Budget Support: Help monitor project expenses and support the Project Engineer in tracking costs. Assist in ensuring that project expenditures are within budget and that any deviations are reported promptly.
  • Communication: Facilitate communication between different project teams, contractors, and stakeholders. Ensure that information is clearly conveyed and that all parties are aligned on project goals and progress.
  • Field Coordination: Support field operations by coordinating with construction and commissioning teams to resolve any issues that may arise on-site. Ensure that field teams have the necessary resources and documentation to perform their tasks.
  • Risk Monitoring: Assist the Project Engineer in identifying potential risks and helping to mitigate them. Track project risks and ensure that any issues are addressed promptly to avoid project delays.
  • Reporting: Assist the Project Engineer in preparing regular progress reports for internal stakeholders and clients, highlighting key achievements, upcoming tasks, and any concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related technical field) or a related discipline. Alternatively, relevant experience in project coordination within the oil and gas sector may be considered.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in project coordination or a related field, preferably within the oil and gas industry. Experience in remote or Arctic environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge & Skills: Basic understanding of oil and gas projects, including design, procurement, and construction processes. Familiarity with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar). Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and track project activities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and assist in coordinating various project disciplines.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify potential issues and proactively assist in resolving them.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in remote and extreme environments, including the North Slope of Alaska. Willingness to adapt to project needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in remote, harsh Arctic conditions with limited access to resources.
  • Schedule: Rotational shift (e.g., 21 days on/21 days off) with 12-hour daily shifts.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks related to commissioning activities.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
