Responsibilities

  • Support the establishment of policy, procedures, and standards for the Strategic Engagement Division.
  • Develop and manage the division's annual budget.
  • Develop and update Concept Papers for division-led events and assist in creating a biennial plan.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with government, academic, partner nations, and indigenous peoples across the Arctic.
  • Develop briefing products and provide daily guidance to staff.
  • Implement the division's mission and vision.
  • Oversee planning, resourcing, and execution of multi-day engagements.
  • Communicate with senior government officials and create various briefing materials.
  • Create new engagement venues and ensure timely reporting.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Male applicants born after 12-31-1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Submit resume and supporting documents.
  • Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation.
  • Work schedule: Full Time; Overtime occasionally; Flexible tour of duty.
  • May be eligible for recruitment incentives.
  • Position is situational telework eligible.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Non-critical Sensitive/Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

To qualify at the AD-05 level, you need:

  • One year of specialized experience at the AD-04 grade level, including knowledge of Arctic security, team management, and government policies.

Volunteer and unpaid experience can be credited towards experience requirements.

Additional Information

Eligible veterans and employees affected by agency programs may have priority. The position requires completing DoD Security Cooperation Workforce Certification and ongoing education. The incumbent must meet time-in-grade requirements and may be subject to interview processes.
