Job Description Electric Power Systems, Inc. is a unique company offering a wide range of experience and education in the areas of power system operations, transmission and substation design, and plant design. We provide extensive services from feasibility studies, line routing, transmission line design, to construction management.We are currently seeking a senior-level Structural or Transmission Design Engineer to lead our team. This is a full-time position that requires some travel. Experience utilizing PLS-CADD is required. You must have knowledge of the NESC code and experience in designing transmission lines up to 230 kV. An Alaska professional engineer/registration or the ability to acquire registration within 18 months is required. You will lead our transmission section in performing transmission line design, including engineering analysis, route selection, structure spotting, staking sheets, and line design calculations. Additional responsibilities include technical design, project review, development of transmission standards, drawings, specifications, cost estimating, project scheduling, and project management.EPS has a sister company performing transmission line construction, working collaboratively on design/build projects for transmission lines and substations.The position is located in Anchorage, Alaska, supervising a department of 3 engineers and technicians, with growth expected in the coming years.
