Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.In the role of a Traffic Engineer , we'll count on you to: Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on traffic design and analysis projects ranging from traffic signal design, pedestrian facility / accessibility design, pavement marking and signing, operational analysis, traffic signal systems, and traffic safety studies. Focus on traffic design, including accident analysis and mitigation strategies, signing, striping, traffic signals, lighting, and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS)Work closely with Project Managers, Traffic EITs, and design teams to prepare PS&E plans including traffic signal design, lighting, sidewalk, pathway, cycle track, and curb ramp design, pavement marking and signing, sidewalk, and traffic control plans for various state and local agencies.Develop traffic studies including traffic impact analyses, traffic signal timing plans, microscopic simulation modeling, and macroscopic simulation modeling, collaborating with Project Managers and design teams.Evaluate road safety, prepare vulnerable user assessments, and provide recommendations and design guidance to align with community plans and objectives, utilizing various safety software.Oversee work and provide mentoring, guidance, and coaching to entry-level designers, drafters, and other EITs.Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed.Perform other duties as needed.Applicants should have prior experience in these areas and be capable of working in a team environment.Preferred Qualifications Alaska PEExperience in traffic design including preparation of PS&E plansWorking knowledge of ADA requirements; PROWAG is a plusMinimum 4 years of traffic design and analysis experience#LI-JM8Required Qualifications Bachelor's degreeExperience with traffic analysis and traffic engineering/designProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseHands-on experience conducting traffic design using CAD platforms including MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Guide Sign softwareExperience conducting operational analysis using tools like HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and AimsunExperience conducting safety analysis with safety software tools such as Highway Safety SoftwareProficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, WordStrong verbal and written skillsA commitment to our employee-owned cultureWhat We BelieveHDR is our company.
