Electrical Engineer Lead Anchorage, AK (temp - perm)RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Report to the Program Manager on project-related matters and to the Electrical Resource Manager on workload and quality issues.Scope, develop, and provide proposal input for new projects within the Program.Lead the technical work within the Program.Assign staff within the electrical work group to various projects.Utilize Anvil software tools for work status reporting, forecasting, and scheduling.Ensure project quality within the Program.Interface with client counterparts for projects within the Program.Serve as the single point of accountability for all work conducted within the Resource Group for the Program.Collaborate with other technical groups and project management to develop front-end project documentation, including execution plans, estimates, and schedules.Align technical design with client requirements and standards through interface with client counterparts.Develop and maintain working relationships with clients for business development.Prepare detailed project designs complying with codes, regulations, and client standards.Perform calculations for fault currents, electrical loads, voltage drops, and sizing of conduits, feeders, and heat trace systems.Complete electrical documentation such as single lines, area classifications, plans, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and scopes of work.Check work packages and perform quality control.Conduct field surveys to validate existing conditions and inform new designs.Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Professional registration is encouraged but not mandatory.Exceptional communication and organizational skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Experience in project scoping, estimating, and detailed electrical design.Software experience with electrical modeling tools (SKM, EZPower, ETAP) and design applications such as lighting and heat trace; AutoCAD experience is a plus.Ability to work independently and lead a team of electrical engineers and designers.Self-checking skills for work products.Understanding of the latest Electrical Code standards.Willingness to travel as needed.Ability to obtain a TWIC card.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE B.S. in Electrical Engineering.PE certification is strongly preferred.8-25 years of experience in designing industrial electrical power, distribution, area classification, schematics, grounding, lighting, and heat tracing systems.Company Description: Taylor Technical Services, established in 1977, is a leading supplier of engineering personnel in the Houston/Gulf Coast area and Alaska.
