JOB SUMMARY
The Project Controls and Procurement Specialist will have diverse responsibilities, including project planning and scheduling, cost tracking, procurement, and documentation. This role will contribute to a project team supporting projects from early-stage engineering through construction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Support project management in Requests for Proposal preparation and bid evaluations.
• Assist Material Coordinators with material procurement for projects.
• Create and route project requisitions.
• Create purchase orders (POs) and manage contractor communication via the FS2 Portal.
• Assist and audit Site View entries.
• Review and validate vendor invoices.
• Ensure project invoices are accurately prepared and submitted timely.
• Develops and maintains regular cost reports.
• Monitor expected and actual delivery dates of materials.
• Collect, analyze, and report committed and actual costs for the project.
• Update monthly project forecast in the cost controls system.
• Perform cost variance analysis.
• Monitor project budgets and contract commitments.
• Participate in creating and implementing cost controls systems and processes.
• Generate ad-hoc reporting upon request.
• Make occasional field trips.
• Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
• Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• Associates degree or higher in related field
• Competent in SharePoint, Projects for the Web, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in project controls and material procurement
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Has the capacity to work effectively within a team-oriented environment
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
