Job Description I&C Engineer - Anchorage, AK**This position is based in AK, it is a long-term contract position. Relocation assistance is not provided, but a roundtrip flight is included, along with per diem for qualified candidates.Our client is hiring for multiple positions at varying classifications from Mid-level to Specialist I&C Engineers, depending on experience and competencies.The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer is responsible for planning and designing process systems within a multidisciplinary engineering and design team. Candidates are expected to apply advanced engineering principles, methods, and techniques to their project assignments.Responsibilities Develop or adapt instrumentation and controls design standards based on regulatory requirements, industry standards, and client needs.Design instrumentation and controls for hydrocarbon plant projects, including developing field and control room instrumentation specifications.Apply controls, instruments, and associated systems for commercial, petrochemical, and industrial applications.Coordinate with other discipline engineers to determine instrumentation and controls specifications.Manage the configuration of digital control systems (DCS) installations.Contribute to project P&ID development.Research and analyze data such as client proposals, specifications, and manuals to assess design feasibility.Assist in developing project scopes, estimates, and schedules.Select major equipment and materials, and develop construction specifications.Ensure all activities comply with applicable codes, regulations, and laws.Support fabrication and installation phases to ensure adherence to engineering documents.Coordinate activities across project disciplines involved in fabrication, operation, and maintenance.Provide technical guidance and support to team members.Evaluate new technologies to improve systems and address safety or process issues.Design and implement online analyzers based on plant requirements, including specifications, installation, and evaluation.Develop and implement expert systems software on DCS platforms.Demonstrate professionalism in project management, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.Perform other duties as assigned.Additional Potential Assignments Depending on skills and project needs, I&C engineers may also work on fire and gas alarm systems, fire protection engineering, or electrical engineering tasks. Candidates with capabilities in these areas are encouraged to apply.Qualifications The following qualifications are typically required for various levels, though alternative combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered:Engineer Bachelor's degree in electrical, control systems, fire protection, or related engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.At least 2 years of oil and gas industry experience.Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.Senior Engineer Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering field.4-10 years of oil and gas industry experience.PE license preferred.Staff Engineer Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering, 8-15 years of experience, and PE license, or 15+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree.Senior Staff Engineer Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of experience, or 20+ years with a bachelor's degree.Principal Engineer Bachelor's degree and 20+ years of experience, or 25+ years with a bachelor's degree, both with PE license.Additional Requirements Experience with Cold regions or Arctic conditions engineering.Hydrocarbon industry experience, especially in Alaska North Slope.Computer Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and current AutoCAD software.Certificates and Licenses Optional but advantageous: ISA certifications in Instrumentation and Controls, NICET fire protection certifications, Alaska Fire Marshal permits.Company Overview Founded in 1977, Taylor Technical Services is a leading provider of engineering personnel in Houston, Gulf Coast, and Alaska, with experienced recruiters familiar with the oil & gas industry.#J-18808-Ljbffr
