The Network and Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stability and integrity of the university's voice, data, wireless network services, and server infrastructure. This involves planning, designing, and developing LANs and server technology, as well as installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of network and server hardware/software.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Maintaining desktop computers, software, and licensing compliance
  2. Workstation imaging and remote application delivery
  3. Managing corporate cell phones
  4. Supporting help desk operations, including ticketing, inventory, and preventative maintenance
  5. Assigning help desk tickets and managing problem resolution
  6. Overseeing network managed services such as antivirus, imaging, printing
  7. Administering Windows servers and backup/restore operations
  8. Delivering technology solutions promptly
  9. Developing and communicating problem management processes
  10. Managing VoIP phone systems
  11. Entering and analyzing problems in the ticketing system, performing root cause analysis
  12. Participating in incident, change, configuration, and availability management
  13. Evaluating and managing problem management tools
  14. Troubleshooting network connectivity and peripherals
  15. Implementing and resolving issues related to telephony products at all campus locations

Required knowledge and skills include attention to detail, excellent customer service, a strong work ethic, experience managing end-user devices, and understanding of naming conventions and standards.
