Job Description

This position requires daily travel to locations in and around the Anchorage area, including the airport.

Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for meeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains equipment in the field; provides customer training as required.
  • Documents all inspections, maintenance, and repair work; submits paperwork promptly.
  • Orders, installs, and returns parts; manages repair parts cycle time.
  • Reviews logs for open issues and prepares reports for customers.
  • Participates in service sales opportunities and promotes revenue programs.
  • Ensures tools and test equipment are maintained and calibrated.
  • Assesses product/equipment performance; recommends modifications or improvements.
  • Provides technical support to customers and service professionals.
  • May participate in site surveys, pilot programs, and meetings.
  • Possesses basic technical knowledge of Trace and X-Ray technologies.
  • Maintains clear business communication, both oral and written.
  • Builds relationships with senior FSEs and Product Managers to support customer needs and stay updated on technical trends.
  • Controls and minimizes costs.
  • Travel, overtime, and work outside Monday-Friday may be required.
  • Complies with health, safety, environmental policies, and export regulations.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education/Training

Associate's Degree, related trade certification, or military training in electrical, mechanical, or electronics fields. Equivalent work and life experience (1-3 years) in electrical or mechanical service roles accepted. Computer literacy and aptitude for specialized software.

Experience

1-3 years of troubleshooting and field repair experience with electrical and electronic systems.

Knowledge/Skills

Excellent communication, customer focus, and teamwork skills. Responsive to customer issues and willing to travel on short notice.

Supervises

Supervision not primary but may be required on projects.

Background

Requires Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access and TSA vetting; must pass a federal background check.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; multitasking ability.
  • Strong customer service skills and stress management.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable.
  • Excellent phone skills.
  • Ability to lift 80 lbs., push/pull 200 lbs., and manipulate equipment up to 1000 lbs. with assistance.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and working in unusual positions.
  • Ability to work safely in extreme environments around industrial equipment.

Work Environment

Typically at customer locations such as airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships, or other sites as required. May require SSI access and U.S. security clearance.
