Job Opportunity: Youth Crew Leader - Parks and Recreation

Open to the general public and current Municipal employees.

This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and follows the agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and AMEA.

Department and Work Details

  • Department: Parks and Recreation
  • Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
  • Location: Russian Jack Springs Parks, 1600 Lidia Selkregg Lane

These are seasonal, full-time positions with an expected start date of May 27, 2025, and end date of August 1, 2025.

Remote work opportunities may be available after successful completion of probation, subject to management approval and department policies.

Eligibility and Requirements

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. A high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience working with teens or youth are required. Prior experience with recreational equipment is also necessary.

Licenses and Certifications Needed by Hire

  • Valid State of Alaska driver's license
  • American Red Cross First Aid Certification or equivalent
  • American Red Cross CPR Certification or equivalent

Preferences and Additional Information

Preference will be given to AMEA employees. Successful AMEA applicants will be considered before non-AMEA candidates.

Conditional Employment Requirements

  • Submission of current Alaska driver's license and driving record
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Satisfactory criminal background check and fingerprinting
