As our new mid-level Engineer or Scientist, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.
Role
We are looking for a motivated and experienced engineer or scientist to join our team in Anchorage, Alaska. Responsibilities
- Work with clients from a variety of industries or agencies
- Collect groundwater, surface water, and soil samples
- Prepare technical plans and reports
- Review State, Federal, and Local regulations for applicability to site cleanup
- Assist other SLR teams with work in disciplines including air monitoring, waste management, permitting, and compliance
- Travel to clients' facilities for inspections and document review
- Work within quality, budget, schedule expectations, and scope-specific assignments

- Salary range: $85,000 - $105,000, based on experience and qualifications

Qualifications/Education/Memberships
- Bachelor of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years in environmental consulting
- Proficient in field sampling and remediation techniques
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel and perform field assignments up to two weeks
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and reliable
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Good time management and understanding of budgets and deadlines
Preferred
- Master's degree in relevant fields
- Knowledge of Alaska regulations and contamination assessment
- Skilled in technical report writing
- Ability to mentor junior staff
- Knowledge of civil construction and analytical chemistry
- OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform field tasks including outdoor work in various climates, travel, lifting, and handling equipment
