Job Description
Our Earth & Environment Team is seeking an Early Career Geotechnical Engineer to work out of our Anchorage, AK office. You will assist in providing geotechnical engineering support for infrastructure projects, including tasks such as research, design, analysis, and construction of various structures. Responsibilities include data collection, site investigation, analysis, documentation, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The role involves both office and field work, with overnight travel required depending on project needs.

Your Impact

  • Assist with data collection and analysis from various sources for project development and construction.
  • Maintain quality control standards for measurements and documentation.
  • Perform basic geotechnical engineering tasks related to site conditions, soil and rock mechanics, and geological hazards.
  • Generate accurate documentation and comply with safety guidelines.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks and adhere to company policies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed by the business.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Attention to detail, multi-tasking, and self-leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency with technical writing, office software, and familiarity with engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to policies.
  • Willingness to travel and work in various environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Master's degree in related discipline.
  • Prior internship experience.
  • Participation in professional organizations.
  • Familiarity with permafrost engineering protocols.
  • Enthusiasm for field work and teamwork.
