Facility Maintenance Specialist - Point Lay
2025-05-30 North Slope Borough all cities,AKPerform routine maintenance on facilities and grounds, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.

Maintain and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security systems.
Maintain and repair physical structures as needed.
Use power tools and departmental equipment to perform basic repairs and maintenance in carpentry, electrical work, mechanical systems, air conditioning, plumbing, and other areas.
Inspect facilities, equipment, and grounds for necessary repairs, improvements, or preventative maintenance.
Maintain accurate records and manage inventory control and receiving reports.
Perform janitorial duties on the grounds and within the facility.
Complete work as assigned through work orders.
Comply with all safety standards and protocols.
HEALTH DEPARTMENT ONLY
May require working non-traditional hours, including evenings, holidays, weekends, and being on-call 24 hours.
Respect client rights and maintain confidentiality, including HIPAA compliance.
Follow policies and procedures to prevent the spread of bloodborne and airborne diseases, ensuring safety for self, co-workers, and clients.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of North Slope Borough organization, operations, policies, and procedures.
High school diploma or G.E.D., or a combination of 12 years of education and related work experience.
At least two years of combined work experience in carpentry, mechanics, electrical work, and plumbing.
Valid Alaska Driver's License meeting North Slope Borough insurance criteria.
Ability to pass FBI fingerprint background check within 60 days of hire (Police only).
HEALTH DEPARTMENT ONLY
Must pass a criminal history background check conducted by the State of Alaska Background Check Unit.
Provide documentation confirming absence of active pulmonary tuberculosis.
