Summary

Under limited supervision, provides assistance in management and training of all scanning functions within the electronic health record system and paper documentation retention regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and maintain all scanned documents within the electronic health record to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Perform corrections of scanned documentation and report findings to HIM Managers and Director.
  • Reconcile paper documents received for completeness, index documents, and prepare them for archiving.
  • Provide technical support and training for scanning application to clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Analyze issues with scanning application and report to HIM Analyst team.
  • Assist with and cover duties for HIM Analyst team and MPI functions.
  • Maintain and update scanned forms hierarchy and archiving databases.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Health Information Management or equivalent experience.
  • Four (4) years of experience in Health Information Management field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • RHIT or RHIA credential preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of data gathering, analysis, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of medical record keeping, retention guidelines, and healthcare policies.
  • Skill in problem solving, communication, multitasking, and operating software applications.
