Since launching in 1998, Disney Cruise Line (DCL) has established itself as a leader in the cruise industry, providing a setting where families can reconnect, adults can recharge, and children can experience all Disney has to offer. Today, the award-winning Disney Cruise Line continues to expand its blueprint for family cruising with a fleet of six ships — the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish, and Disney Treasure — and seven more ships on the way, including the expanded relationship with Oriental Land Company Ltd. to bring Disney cruise vacations to Japan, by 2031. About the Role

The Manager, Entertainment Technical Operations role is responsible for leading the Entertainment Technical Operations Team Shoreside and ensuring strategic development of the future operational tactics shipboard.

This position will support the shipboard entertainment technical team, which is comprised of managerial, supervisory, and professional‑level Crew onboard the DCL fleet while ensuring all entertainment technical fleet expansion deliverables are executed.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Entertainment Technical Operations Team.
  • Oversee fleetwide operational budget and provide advisory support.
  • Forecast operational needs and propose budget guidelines.
  • Manage fleetwide spending in accordance with the budget.
  • Handle music and media contracts.
  • Implement new processes to improve efficiencies.
  • Develop and execute change management strategies for operational evolution.
  • Oversee crew scheduling, compensation, and training for entertainment technical staff.
  • Conduct crew interviews and develop succession plans.
  • Drive talent development and retention strategies.
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts and participate in industry events.
  • Manage large-scale projects and vendor relationships.
  • Support entertainment event development and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain relationships with government licensing bodies, vendors, and internal partners.
  • Ensure operational readiness of entertainment technical areas onboard ships.
  • Oversee pyrotechnic logistics, safety, and compliance.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to direct reports, including performance reviews, onboarding, and training.
  • Manage safety and operational documentation and risk assessments.
  • Partner with safety and standards teams to ensure compliance and safety management systems are up to date.

Work Arrangement Required:

  • Willing to work weekends, holidays, and third shifts as needed.
  • Willing to travel extensively for assignments.

Requirements - Experiences:

  • At least 10 years of leadership in entertainment project management, live event production, or related fields.
  • Experience in industries like theatrical, cruise, theme parks, or large-scale events.
  • Expertise in theatrical technologies such as lighting, effects, pyrotechnics, audio, projection, and set design.

Requirements - Skills:

  • Strong organizational, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Focus on process improvement and problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage budgets and schedules effectively.

Requirements - Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
