HDR has an exceptional opportunity for an Environmental Permitter in our Alaska Area Resources Business Group.

Primary Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide environmental permitting support for Alaska development projects. Responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting permit application acquisition and/or modification, including managing and reviewing technical work products such as environmental documents and technical studies.
  2. Establishing permitting matrices, schedules, and sequencing tasks; coordinating workload and deadlines with project managers and technical staff; implementing quality assurance/quality control procedures.
  3. Collaborating with clients, project managers, and subject matter experts to advise on permitting schedules and strategies.

Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to high-quality standards for professional practice and deliverables. They should work cooperatively with professionals across disciplines, clients, project managers, business development teams, and leadership. This is a full-time position based in Anchorage, Alaska, with potential for providing permitting support at client offices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or certification
  • 2 to 5 years of professional environmental permitting experience in Alaska
  • Local hire preference

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences or a closely related field
  • Knowledge of wetland delineation, field investigation techniques, and agency coordination requirements
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Active participation in our employee-owned culture
