In the role of Highway Design Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

  1. Work on a team with other project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural infrastructure projects.
  2. Prepare calculations, reports, memos, cost estimates, and other documentation.
  3. Take responsibility for alignment and profile, geometrics, drainage, development of plans, and construction estimates.
  4. Design work, primarily using Civil3D, may include horizontal and vertical alignment for roadways, intersection/interchange layout, cross sections, approach design, drainage calculations, utility plans, and other elements.
  5. Provide assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications, and calculations.
  6. Work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver transportation infrastructure projects of various sizes and complexity.
  7. Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. (Spring graduations will be considered.)
  3. Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and are expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
  4. Strong communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment.
  5. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD; familiarity with highways and roads engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation, Open Roads Designer, Autodesk InfraWorks, Civil3D, and others.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
