Overview

UIC Commercial Services is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the UICCS Accounting Group. The successful candidate will manage and oversee all financial activities, including strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash management. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of financial analysis and accounting policies, with experience managing large budgets and preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP. UIC Commercial Services is a subsidiary of Ukpeagvik Inupiat Corporation, comprising eight operating companies with approximately $250M in annual revenue across Alaska.

Responsibilities

1. Manage and direct all financial activities, including strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash management.
2. Lead EBITDA and CAPEX reporting and analysis, working with senior leadership to develop strategies focused on revenue growth, expense reduction, and financial performance improvement.
3. Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accurate and complete financial records.
4. Oversee budgeting and forecasting cycles, including the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
5. Prepare financial statements such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP.
6. Provide standard and ad-hoc reports to operations and executive management, utilizing KPIs and industry benchmarks to enhance subsidiary operations.
7. Perform additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:

• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills suitable for a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with SAGE accounting systems.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in finance or banking.
• Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
• 5 years of construction accounting experience.

Preferred Experience:

• Master's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
• CPA, CMA, or CFA designation.
• Experience working within an Alaska Native Corporation.
