In the role of Alaska Power Market Sector Leader, you'll be responsible for:

  1. Client management and development, serving as a client and project manager for future assignments with key clients in the area.
  2. Identifying and developing project opportunities, serving as a pursuit champion, and supporting HDR pursuits.
  3. Planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of large multidisciplinary or medium-sized projects with high technical complexity.
  4. Assessing the marketplace to determine the best business approach to win and secure contracts.
  5. Collaborating with other market sectors and business groups.
  6. Serving as the Client Manager for key regional clients and maintaining industry visibility.
  7. Promoting HDR services to clients in partnership with client managers.
  8. Working with Business Group Managers on market sector initiatives.
  9. Driving client development and pursuit processes based on proven techniques.
  10. Supporting pursuits through client relationship development and strategic participation.
  11. Participating in industry associations and representing the company in community organizations.
  12. Identifying key investments to maintain or enhance HDR's industry leadership.
  13. Building relationships with industry counterparts and senior client leadership.
  14. Enhancing practices for market competitiveness and staff development opportunities.
  15. Leading recruitment efforts for future market sector employees.
  16. Coordinating work-sharing among departments and supporting technical excellence.
  17. Identifying needs for new technical services and products to maximize practice effectiveness.
  18. Collaborating on staffing and recruiting plans with Market Sector Directors.
  19. Supporting talent management and resource gap analysis.
  20. Assisting in project delivery, profit/loss monitoring, and QA/QC programs.
  21. Facilitating cooperation and addressing barriers to success.
  22. Monitoring market sector performance indicators and implementing process improvements.
  23. Promoting effective resource use and workload management.
  24. Reviewing contracts to manage risks and ensure quality.
  25. Supporting QA/QC and sharing lessons learned.
  26. Taking on project management assignments as appropriate for this leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Alaska power projects

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, planning, or a related field
  • At least 10 years of industry experience
  • Experience in strategic marketing for planning or engineering services
  • Proven ability in managing client relationships and project pursuits
  • Experience in staff development and industry engagement
  • Ability to collaborate with various leadership levels
  • Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and culture
