Nutrition, Transportation & Support Specialist (Meal Driver) for Older Alaskans Program

Job Responsibilities

1. Review and update meal delivery schedules based on verified changes.
2. Verify meal counts, pack meals using proper containers and ice packs to ensure temperature control of 40°F or less during delivery.
3. Deliver meals, side dishes, and newspapers exclusively to clients along the route.
4. Twice a month, verify container temperatures with a thermometer and record the readings.
5. Document each delivery with client signatures and maintain daily records for the OAP Statistician.
6. Provide immediate short-term assistance to clients as needed.
7. Report undeliverable meals daily to the OAP Scheduler/Operations Manager.
8. Deliver meals for scheduled congregate meal sites and clean meal site equipment daily.
9. Pick up and deliver mail/messages between various locations as assigned.
10. Perform vehicle inspections daily, including checking air, water, oil, and other essential items; fuel and wash vehicle as needed.
11. Report accidents, injuries, or property damage immediately and complete necessary reports.

Position Requirements

• Obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Participate in training to assess client health at a paraprofessional level.
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, or two years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in English, map-reading skills, and a valid Alaska Driver's License with a clean record.
• Ability to pass background checks and fingerprinting requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
