Join the Department of History as a full-time, two year, Term Assistant Professor, specializing in Asia and the World, the Pacific World, or Global History. Teach engaging courses, including the East Asian Civilization sequence and advanced topics in Asian, Pacific, and World history, while contributing to a dynamic academic community.
The Department of History at the University of Alaska Anchorage invites applications for a full-time, two year, Term Assistant Professor of History with a preferred specialty in Asia and the World, or the Pacific World, or Global History. The successful candidate will teach four course sections per semester, including East Asian Civilization I and II survey sequence, and upper division courses in Asian, Pacific, and/or World history.
To thrive in this role a candidate should have evidence of successful teaching, strong interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of contemporary curricular content for history and advanced graduate-level training in history.
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in History, with an emphasis on Asia and the World, Pacific World, or Global History. ABDs near completion will be considered.
This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus in Anchorage, AK. This is a full-time, 9-month, term-funded, non-tenure track, two year, faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
