Job Title: Attorney

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Salary: $75,000 to $105,000 D.O.E

Experience Required:

  1. Two years' experience in immigration law is required at a minimum.
  2. Experience must be in any of, or a combination of, family based, removal defense, crimigration, asylum, or employment based immigration.
  3. Experience must include representing clients at hearings and form preparation.
  4. Secondary experience in other areas of the law is a plus.
  5. A HUGE bonus is being a fluent Spanish speaker (will result in increased rate of pay).

Required Skills/Training:

  1. Must have a J.D. from an ABA accredited University.
  2. Must be barred in Alaska or be willing and able to become barred in Alaska.
  3. Clinic/clerkships are a plus.
  4. Bi-lingual candidates will receive heightened consideration and corresponding pay bump.
  5. Experience with client management software is a plus.
  6. Must be excellent with Office Suite and Adobe.

Full Job Description:

Well established Anchorage immigration firm needs a diligent and self-motivated attorney. A dedicated, reliable person who feels comfortable being self-guided in their work is the perfect fit. We require previous experience in immigration law. We do ask for competence and comfort with Microsoft Word and Outlook. Experience with Excel, Adobe, and QuickBooks Online is a plus but not required. We will highly value any individual who is bilingual and offer a corresponding pay bump. The attorney will help to meticulously maintain up-to-date files on individual matters and ensure client success. They will draft motions, pleadings, memos, and conduct legal research. The attorney will appear in front of USCIS and EOIR on behalf of clients. The attorney will conduct initial consultations. Initial responsibilities include maintaining client database, answering telephones as needed, completion of form letters/pleadings, drafting correspondence, and completing random tasks that come up in the day to day of a bustling law office. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, and a sense of pride and importance concerning your work product. You should enjoy working in a small office where we all get to know and care for each other. Must pass background check, as honesty, responsibility, and motivation are critically important. Must be proficient at typing and possess excellent grammar/writing skills. An eye for detail is also highly valued.
