Front Desk Supervisor-Full-Time
The Lakefront, Anchorage hotel (formerly the Millennium Hotel) is recruiting for full time, Front Desk Supervisor to join our team. At the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel, we strive to deliver a memorable experience for our guests. Situated on the shores of scenic Lake Spenard, one mile from Anchorage International Airport and four miles from downtown Anchorage, the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel is the perfect starting point to explore the many wonders Alaska has to offer. The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel boasts 248 rooms and three outstanding food and beverage outlets.

The role of the front desk supervisor is to provide guidance and leadership as the front office supervisor to ensure consistent quality customer service is delivered. The supervisor will report to the F.O.M. and be the lead guest service agent for all shifts when the F.O.M. or Asst. F.O.M. is not available. This position is responsible for providing guidance and leadership to GSA ensuring a consistent high level of customer service is provided to all guests.

Typical duties of the front desk supervisor include:

• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff. Assign and instruct guest service agents in details of work. Observes performance and encourages improvement.
• Greet guests immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Use a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate information such as outlet hours and local attractions.
• Access receipts and folios for billing inquiries.
• Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations and/or heavy hotel activity, serving as a role model for GSA'S and other employees.
• Resolve customer complications and complaints by conducting thorough research of the situation and the most effective solutions. Make decisions and act based on previous experience and good judgment, sometimes revising procedures to accommodate unusual situations.
• Authorize revenue allowances to remedy problems only after other alternative solutions have been offered.
• Establish credit for all guests upon check-in and monitor their credit status during their stay. Facilitate check-outs and close out rooms and accounts for resale.
• Prepares daily forecast of expected arrivals and departures.

The successful applicant will:

• Two-year prior front desk experience required. Opera / Fidelio experience preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel applications required.
• Effective communications in English both written and oral.
• Patience, tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to lift and transport boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to resolve problems without blaming others.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Work as a productive team member by contributing positive energy.
• Perform the duties of the position in a safe manner.
• Be professional in all interactions with guests and associates.
