Field Engineer

We are looking for a field engineer to inspect infrastructure and conduct research on-site in order to solve problems quickly. For this job, you need to have an engineering degree and be familiar with the technical aspects of machines, equipment, and technology used in different field projects. You should be an excellent problem-solver and be able to manage crises when they arise. If you meet these requirements, and you're also a superb communicator, we'd like to meet you.
Responsibilities

  • You will be expected to be a job-site leader in health and safety, ensuring the quality of reporting and workmanship, and that all engineering work is completed in a professional and ethical manner
  • As a Field Engineer II, you will be the primary and lead engineer on the Project, and report directly to the Project Manager
  • Communicate with clients to determine needs and explain complex issues
  • Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets
  • Conduct research and studies on site
  • Manage field activities and implement engineering designs
  • Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation, control points, and compilation of as-built data
  • Handle mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordination drawings, shop, and as-built drawings
  • Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's)
  • Works to achieve operational targets within job area, which has some impact on the overall achievement of results for the department
  • Identifies, defines, and addresses problems within the job area that are not immediately evident but typically not complex
  • The Field Engineer will need to be familiar with a variety of construction disciplines such as Safety, Estimating, Project Management and Operations
Key requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil engineering, or engineering-related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Understanding of safety guidelines
  • Attention to detail
  • Showcase a positive and professional attitude and exemplary customer service skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • An analytical mind and strong problem-solving ability
  • Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • The Field Engineer will need to be familiar with a variety of construction disciplines such as Safety, Estimating, Project Management and Operations
