Summary:

In alignment with Assets, Inc.'s core values and mission, this position plays a crucial role in the success of our contract by performing a variety of stocking and janitorial duties. Your dedication will help maintain a safe and organized environment, ensuring a positive experience for both customers and coworkers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Uphold and demonstrate Assets, Inc.'s core values and mission in all tasks.
  2. Perform direct labor according to OSHA safety standards and site management requirements. Duties include:
  • Moving merchandise using heavy equipment
  • Stocking shelves and displays, rotating stock, and repairing labels
  • Cleaning shelves and fronting merchandise
  • Operating a cardboard bailer and pallet jacks
  • Emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning restrooms
  • Maintaining hard floors and spot cleaning carpets
  • Cleaning the meat market area
  • Participate actively in company meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain proactive relationships with customers and coworkers.
  • Adhere to all company policies.
  • Support team efforts and contribute to strengthening team structures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Education and Experience: No formal education or experience required. Six months of prior successful employment or related experience preferred. High School Diploma or GED is a plus.
    • Language Skills: Ability to read and recognize simple words and numbers. Capability to print and speak simple sentences.
    • Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to carry out simple instructions. Manage standardized situations with minimal variables.
    • Certificates and Licenses: Insured vehicle and a valid Alaska driver's license (with no or low points). Provide a driving record, proof of insurance at hire. Comply with Joint Base Elmendorf/Richardson transportation regulations. Pass a criminal background check and obtain security clearance for the worksite.
    Desired Skills and Abilities:
    1. Experience in grocery stocking.
    2. Previous janitorial experience.
    3. Familiarity with industry-standard stocking and janitorial equipment.
    4. Experience working with individuals who experience disabilities.
    5. Effective communication skills.

    Physical Demands:
    • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear.
    • Frequently required to climb or balance.
    • Must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
    Work Environment:
    • Occasional exposure to high, precarious places.
    • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
