Job Status: Non-Exempt; Full-Time

Summary

The Payroll Clerk is primarily responsible for making all necessary calculations and data system input in preparation of the payroll process. The payroll specialist is tasked with meeting payroll deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

Essential Functions:
  1. Review employee timecards for accuracy
  2. Prepare, enter, and process bi-weekly payroll for hourly, salary and commission employees, to include Davis Bacon processing and reporting as needed
  3. Prepare and process Equipment, Parts, Rental, Service Commissions
  4. Run manual payroll checks on requests i.e. bonus and terminations
  5. Sort and distribute checks/vouchers for Anchorage
  6. Prepare payroll and commission reports for distribution
  7. Maintain various payroll bonus and incentive programs
  8. Input and maintain employee information, deductions, earnings, liens etc. in payroll system
  9. Assist in the set-up and maintenance of the employee payroll records
  10. Maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll functions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements
  11. Respond to all payroll inquiries
  12. "Proof" YTD totals for W-2 preparation
  13. Maintain PTO scheduling and tracking.
  14. Monthly BLS reporting, quarterly worksite reporting and annual DOT compliance.
  15. Assist with HR tasks as needed
  16. Special projects as assigned

Education and Experience
  1. High School Diploma, required
  2. One to two years of experience in payroll
  3. Previous experience in Microsoft Office Suite preferred

Physical Requirements

Most work is completed in an office environment. This position requires standing, walking, bending and occasionally lifting up to 25lbs.

Job Type: Full Time

Schedule:
  • 8-hour shift
  • Monday to Friday, occasional weekend availability
