Primary duties include accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail performing tasks, including: creating and/or maintaining multiple tracking systems that support the overall function and delivery of services to the public; management of the Procurement card; tracking overall expenses using two funding streams; recording and collecting data from multiple sources for the purpose of assessing expenses and gathering statistics for State and Federal reports; submitting and tracking multiple agency requests for licensed facilities; tracking and documenting annual fees; scheduling and following through on MOA vehicle maintenance; coordinating meetings; capturing detailed meeting notes; entering background information, and organizing and maintaining hard-copy records while adhering toconfidentiality requirements. This position requires a high degree of autonomy in performing daily duties. Utilizes basic accounting principles to perform cash handling and reconciliation. Monitors their own data entry for accuracy and quality assurance.The Anchorage Health Department (AHD) engages in the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) emergency responses and the federal Incident Command System (ICS). This includes training exercises as part of the AHD's Crisis Health Action Team (CHAT) and municipal Emergency Operations Center (EOC). In the case of a natural or manmade disaster, AHD employees may be called to engage in emergency operations responses and recovery.Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / PreferencesHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in office clerical work.ORAssociate's degree in Accounting, Business, Computer Information Systems or similar discipline and experience in office clerical work.Current Alaska Drivers License at time of hireMust have the ability to type at a net speed of 35 WPM or better. - Note: current (within the past (1) year) documented typing speed ability of 35 WPM MUST be attached to the application in order to be considered. Documentation or certification results must clearly indicate the applicant's name and date.Preferences:Intermediate knowledge of Outlook and word, with beginner to intermediate knowledge of Publisher, Excel, and Canva.
