The System Administrator (Int) works in The Indiana Office of Technology (IOT), providing specialized system administration and support to the unique solutions provided and managed by the APM (Application Performance Management) Program Team.
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
•Responsible for activities related to systems administration.
•Assisting in aiding other staff/vendors on various projects, directing their activities, and may assist in evaluating their work.
•Ensuring long-term requirements of systems operations and administration, which may include the overall systems planning.
•Responsible for maintaining, administering, and configuring specialized applications and their components.
•Assisting in implementing enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system(s).
•Responsible for testing and documenting application upgrades/updates/patches and new releases which may include some program design.
•May be responsible for quality assurance reviewing of applications.
•Evaluating new and existing software products.
•Conferring with department management to assist in planning, organizing, and controlling the activities of assigned area(s).
•May assist with project management in assigned area(s).
•May provide administrative support to multiple projects or project phases.
•Assisting in defining system software and hardware requirements.
•Mentoring and providing guidance to new and lower-level staff.
•Monitoring, troubleshooting, and reproducing issues found on incoming 'help tickets' for applications.
•Assisting in direction of incoming Help Desk requests to determine how best to aid agencies.
•Acting on incoming Help Desk requests for service to prioritize resources.
•Assisting in the creation of training materials for maintenance/support of specialized solutions.
