Airswift is seeking a Construction Supervisor IV to work on the Willow Project for 12-month assignment (Subject to extension).

  • Lodging and meals are reimbursable when the personal residence is located more than 50 miles outside the Municipality of Anchorage.
  • Travel between personal residence and Anchorage, Alaska is non-reimbursable.
Willow Overview: Located on Alaska's North Slope in the National Petroleum Reserve (NPR-A), the Willow project is estimated to produce 180,000 barrels of oil per day at its peak. During construction, Willow is expected to create around 2,500 jobs, with an estimated 300 permanent jobs created. The initial phase of Willow development will include a new Willow Central Processing Facility (WCF), three drill site pads, pipelines, roads, bridges, and supporting infrastructure. The Drilling and Completion portion of the Willow project includes approximately 200 wells and over $2 billion in capital. Pre-drilling is set to begin in 2027.

Scope Summary: The project requires six years of field construction, starting in 2023 and completing in 2028.
  • 2023 (Year 1): Limited civil construction.
  • 2024 (Year 2): Continued civil construction and beginning of pipeline construction.
  • 2025 (Year 3): Continued civil and pipeline construction, start of pad facility work, installation of the permanent camp, and infrastructure at the Willow Operations Center (WOC).
  • 2026 (Year 4): Completion of civil construction, continued pipeline construction, and start of facility construction on the WCF.
  • 2027 (Year 5): Continued pipeline and facility construction, and beginning of work on the drill sites.
  • 2028 (Year 6): Completion of pipeline and facility construction for the initial development phase.
The Willow project involves approximately 9 million labor hours with a peak labor force of around 2,000 FTEs. The scope includes the delivery of roads, pads, bridges, airstrip, above-ground pipelines/power cables/fiber optic cables, horizontally directionally drilled under-river pipeline bores, housing, utilities, warehouses and shops, process modules, piperacks, and all interconnection scope.

Position Summary: The Willow Construction Field Planner reports to the Willow Field Superintendent and is a core member of the Willow construction team. This position is responsible for assisting the Field Superintendent with coordination and prioritization of work scope, analyzing contractor progress, recommending recovery plans, developing reporting documents, coordinating material deliveries, and supporting Technical Query responses.

The Construction Field Planner Lead is a specialist with expertise in one aspect of construction: Civil (Ice, Gravel, Bridge erection, & VSM/Piling), Pipelines, Structural Steel Erection, Mechanical (Piping, HVAC Systems, & Rotating Equipment), or Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Planning & Execution:
  • Review construction permits, engineering drawings, and execution constraints; provide input to the field construction plan.
  • Participate in the constructability process and provide feedback.
  • Provide input to construction support strategies and processes (bedspace needs, aviation, ground transportation, construction equipment, fuel forecast, material delivery, and laydown requirements).
  • Analyze contractor performance, evaluate recovery plans, and coordinate with discipline superintendents to establish critical path scopes.
  • Identify and manage interfaces, ensuring clear communication to the installation contractor.
  • Implement lessons learned processes, maintain logs, and facilitate formal lessons learned meetings.
  • Coordinate with external resources (Subject Matter Experts, Operations, Technical Authorities, etc.).
  • Promote knowledge sharing and apply best practices and lessons learned.
  • Develop and maintain priority lists of materials and coordinate needs with the logistics team.
  • Validate required on-site dates for owner-supplied materials and fabricated components.
  • Support the Construction Engineer with Technical Queries (TQs) responses.
  • Summarize daily and weekly reports for the field team and distribute reports.
HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment):
  • Lead HSE performance by enforcing policies, procedures, guidelines, and objectives.
  • Perform jobsite walk-downs, review contractor THA/JHA, and provide recognition for safe work execution.
  • Participate in contractor toolbox and safety meetings and reinforce safety processes.
  • Participate in the Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) observation system.
Qualification Requirements:

Basic / Required:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • 10+ years of construction industry experience.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Construction, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of construction experience in Arctic conditions.
  • 3+ years of experience with Capital Projects Management System (CPMS).
  • 3+ years of experience on North Slope construction or maintenance projects.
  • Advanced interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated performance on large projects and interfacing with project leadership.
  • Advanced multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage multiple ongoing activities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines and across organizational boundaries.
