**SCOPE OF POSITION**

The Food Pantry Staff/Driver position provides emergency assistance to individuals and families meeting agency criteria and mission which is Basic Help for Basic Needs. The position provides information and referral to clients which will assist them to meet their emergency needs and works to help valley residents meet their material needs.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**

- Associates Degree or higher in the social work field; or may substitute two years of substantially similar work experience for the degree

- Proficient in the use of general office equipment, computers, and related

- Knowledge and understanding of client and organization confidentiality

- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, and to work harmoniously with clients, visitors, officers, and other personnel.

- Obtain and maintain a Food Handlers

- Must be able to lift and carry weight above 50lbs on a regular

- Able to order, track, and keep

- Current Alaska drivers license with acceptable driving and criminal history records.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**

- Create appropriate boundaries with clients, volunteers, and

- Assesses telephone and in person requests for assistance with basic needs; conducts initial intake; prepares pertinent paperwork; and issues referrals as

- Provides services for qualified clients with food boxes, vouchers, clothing, rental assistance, and school

- Maintains strict confidentiality of client and other program related

- Maintains accurate statistics and accounting of monies spent for

- Operates the food pantry; maintains inventory; stocks shelving, assembles food boxes, updates files according, and maintains food pantry in a clean and organized

- Operates the CFSP & TFAP programs by maintaining required records, submitting applications, reporting statistics to the Food Bank, and handing out food boxes in accordance with program

- Drive large vehicle as needed to pick up food from the Food Bank distribution points and/or deliver food and supplies across the Mat-Su

- Maintains Millage logs, gas receipts, and notifies officer of any maintenance issues

- Warehouse production operation, including (but not limited to) maintaining the excess food, reception, and office areas as well as keeping storage areas clean and organized (including, but not limited to, refrigerators, freezers, pallets, and shelving).

- Maintaining daily Temperature

- Maintains client and statistical records for all Family Services related assistance and submits statistics within time frames

- Assists with seasonal programs to include, but not limited to: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and School Supply programs.

- Provides training to food pantry volunteers as requested; models team behavior; attends staff meetings and

- Assists in crisis intervention; obtains police, medical, psychiatric, or other emergency services assistances as

- Maintains health and safety codes regarding temp and cleanliness of the

- Able to adhere to volunteer standards as well as managing volunteers on site, while maintaining professional and personal

- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Corps

**ENVIRONMENT**

Work is performed primarily inside a heated and ventilated environment with limited exposure to outside weather conditions during food pick up and deliveries. Noise level is generally low. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in accordance with the Hazard Communication Plan.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

- Ability to speak, sit, walk, stand, bend, balance, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent basis; to grasp, reach, handle, finger, push, or pull
