**Transport Driver**

**Job Description:**

Ancora Home Health and Hospice is seeking a responsible Driver for assisting and safely transporting residents and prospects to and from the community and their residence.

**Location:** Wasilla, AK

**Pay:** $18.00 an hour

**Qualifications:**

-High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

-Prior experience with the elderly and or physically/mentally challenged persons preferred.

-Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with other employees.

-Must maintain regular attendance.

-Must meet all local health regulations, and pass a post-employment physical exam if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.

-Must be capable of performing the essential job functions of this job.

-Must be very schedule-oriented and punctual.

-Must be CPR certified.

**Duties & Tasks:**

-Daily safety checks of vehicle. Reporting immediately to the Administrator any problems related to the vehicle, routing or scheduling. Reporting immediately to the Administration any problem observed or encountered while transporting patients.

-Assist in the loading and unloading of patients from automobiles

-Safe assistance and transportation of residents and patients. Responsible handling of patients personal belongings, medications and family communication which must be conveyed from the patients home, hospital or ALF.

-Maintaining good rapport with family, caregivers and patients. Maintaining good rapport with the community

-Understand the needs of the advanced age, illness, disability, dementia or other cognitive impairments

-Demonstrate good communication skills

-Demonstrate knowledge of routes used in transporting patients and of roadways

-Daily Cleaning of the interior of the vehicle

-Adhere to universal precautions and sanitary/infection control policies and procedures

-Understand and promote all rules and regulations regarding patients rights; promote positive relationships with patients and visitors to include presenting a professional appearance

-Attend and participate in Quality Assurance activities as assigned

-Other duties as assigned or needed
