PURPOSE
The Inventory Control Specialist will assist in managing Tlingit & Haidas inventory through ordering, inspection, and delivery while maintaining accurate records of all procurements.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports To: Procurement Coordinator
Supervises: May supervise up to 2 FTE
Liaison To: N/A
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Oversee inventory and supply chain management
* Perform critical inventory tasks to ensure the correct number of items are in stock
* Develop and implement inventory control systems and practices
* Maintain updated and accurate records of inventory, including transfers and cycle counts
* Review documentation and monitor product codes to search for discrepancies; troubleshoot quantity discrepancies between inventory and records
* Develop and implement improvements to existing inventory operation procedures to maximize efficiency and cut costs
* Forecast supply and demand requirements to ensure availability
* Respond to sales inquiries and purchase orders; collect and analyze data to determine appropriate order quantities; process orders for shipment
* Review inventory operation schedules to ensure timely order fulfillment
* Maintain and update records of purchase orders, pricing reports, and inventory records
* Track rates of accuracy, purchase and return as well as defective items to inform quality control decisions
* Prepare, generate, file, and review with management financial inventory reports, purchase and pricing reports, and supply chain analysis

NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
* Exceptional understanding of inventory management
* Good analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and logistical thinking skills
* Strong, clear, and concise written and verbal skills
* Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office, Inventory Management software, computers, and other standard office technology
* Detailed understanding of process workflows, metrics, and service level agreements
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills )
* Associates degree in related field
* 2 years related experience
* Valid drivers license
Substitution for Associates degree:
* High school diploma and
* 4 years related experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)
* Bachelors degree in business operations, logistics, mathematics, or related field
* 5 years experience in related field
UNUSUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR RESTRICTIONS
The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting and is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing less than 40 lbs. Travel on small aircraft or ferry may be required.
